COMMUNITY NURTURY

A butterfly design made of two baby footprints in shades of blue and green.

The relationship with the child is our curriculum.

Children develop great trust in their caregivers through personalized and intimate caregiving activities.  As caregivers, we believe that everything we do--how we hold a baby, pick up a child, respond to their cries, talk to a child and others around them--helps the child create an understanding of their value as a person, their place in the world, and how they can engage with the world around them.

The Community Nurtury is grounded in the Montessori and RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers) approaches to caregiving.  Read more about what that means for your little one.

Nurtury Staff

I have been in the education field since 2010. I have my Associates degrees in Early Childhood Education and Liberal Arts. I am fluent in American Sign Language and have worked as a neurodevelopment therapy specialist for children with Autism. I joined CM in 2023 and have two learners currently attending. When I am not in a studio, you can find me sewing clothing, camping with my two giant dogs or tending all my houseplants.

I have been a proud member of Community Montessori since January 2024. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University Southeast. I am passionate about fostering independence, curiosity, and a love of learning in every child, and I feel grateful to be part of a school community that honors each learner's unique journey. When I’m outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog, Loki.

I had the privilege of attending Community Montessori as a learner from 2009 to 2018 and was given the opportunity to begin working here in 2025. I have always admired the Montessori method and I am very excited to get to be a part of it as an Educarer now. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time curled up with my cat and getting lost in a good book.

Community Nurtury Frequently Asked Questions

  • We have 16 total spots in the program, divided among our infant, baby, and toddler age groups. Because enrollment changes throughout the year, it is difficult to predict when a spot may become available within a specific age group. Families are encouraged to submit an application and pay the application fee to be added to the waitlist. Applications remain active on the waitlist until the child turns 3 years old. At that time, families will be invited to apply for our Early Education program. Once a child reaches 3 years of age, their waitlist application for the Community Nurtury program will be removed.

  • The fee is $295 weekly.  If you choose to attend part-time you will still be charged the weekly fee of $295.  Days are not pro-rated.

  • Because of how the program is designed, an in-person tour of the facility is only available when there is a spot available for your child.

You can always visit the virtual tour on the website to get an understanding of the environment.

"It is such a gift to not only know that my two babies' basic needs are being met, but that their emotional, social, and intellectual selves are being nurtured as well.  I drop them off each day with confidence that they are receiving care that may even exceed what I could offer them at home!"
