Any learner residing in Indiana who is between 7th and 11th grade is eligible. We believe "11th grade" is the latest a learner could be accepted and still have adequate time to complete all of the graduation requirements. Adolescents enrolled will be able to re-enroll each year without reapplying.

Community Montessori is a PUBLIC charter school, and so there are no tuition charges to attend our school for grades kinder through 12.
Families pay only $95 at the time of enrollment, which covers all consumable materials (paper, pencil, notebooks, binders, etc) their child/teen will need when at school. This fee is in lieu of any supply lists that a typical public school publishes at the start of the school year.
There are fees associated with enrollment in our Early Education program, which can be found on the Programs and Fees section on the Apply page.

We are a school that follows the Montessori philosophy. Studios (classrooms) are multi-aged spaces where multiple grade levels are grouped. You can learn more about these studios on our blog post linked here.
-
Different levels have different sizes. Our younger classes have 30 to 33 learners in each studio (classroom), and our older levels could have up to 40 learners. Each studio is managed by 2 teachers who are State-certified and/or Montessori trained.

The only items that your learner should plan to bring to school are a water bottle, backpack, and a lunchbox (more info about lunches is available in the Family Handbook). Some younger studios may ask for additional items such as a change of clothes to keep at school, rain boots for adverse weather, slippers to wear inside the studio, etc.
-
We are a public school bound by the Indiana Department of Education’s attendance requirements, and so partial enrollment or attendance is not available for learners enrolled in grades kinder through12th.
-
We support all learners with different learning and behavioral needs at Community Montessori. With Montessori principles being our guiding factor, we encourage learners to stay in their studios (classrooms) as much as possible. Teachers will meet the child/teen where they are developmentally and academically and adjust their lessons accordingly.
Community Nurtury Frequently Asked Questions
-
We have 16 total spots in the program, divided among our infant, baby, and toddler age groups. Because enrollment changes throughout the year, it is difficult to predict when a spot may become available within a specific age group. Families are encouraged to submit an application and pay the application fee to be added to the waitlist. Applications remain active on the waitlist until the child turns 3 years old. At that time, families will be invited to apply for our Early Education program. Once a child reaches 3 years of age, their waitlist application for the Community Nurtury program will be removed.
-
The fee is $295 weekly. If you choose to attend part-time you will still be charged the weekly fee of $295. Days are not pro-rated.
-
Because of how the program is designed, an in-person tour of the facility is only available when there is a spot available for your child.
You can always visit the virtual tour on the website to get an understanding of the environment.
