The Parent Involvement Partnership, more fondly known as PIP,

is the school organization that coordinates parent involvement.  

All our families belong to PIP - there are no membership fees.

PIP activities are overseen by the PIP Council, a group of family 

members who help coordinate volunteer opportunities and

communicate throughout the year with families through emails, 

weekly Cupola Notes and the school newsletter. Any family member is welcome to apply for a position on the PIP Council.

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

At Community Montessori, we WANT our parents to be involved, and provide plenty of events and activities so you can find something that compliments your gifts and talents. Read on to learn more about many of the opportunities we have to offer each year, then contact us at PIP@shiningminds.com and let us know how you'd like to get involved! 

School Picture Day & Retake Day

3-4 volunteers are needed to help during Picture Day from about 8 am to 2 pm.  These volunteers assist by going to the studios to get them for pictures, supporting the photographers in helping ensure children look their best, helping take group photos and more.

Scholastic Book Fairs

We host a fall and spring book fair each year, typically in October and April. Book fair volunteers may do many things, including run the cash register, restock books, help learners choose books and read to younger learners.  Let us know by October 1st and April 1st if you can help.  

Event Planning

Events we plan include:  Scholastic Book Fair, Harvest Homecoming, Montessori Meet-Ups, Winter Gifting, Staff Appreciation, & Spring Family Celebration.  This is a great opportunity for family members who are not available during the day to be involved.

PIP Workshop Meals

If you are a parent who likes to cook or who is not able to come in during the school day, this group is for you. We support the CM staff on days when they may be at school all day without a break.  This typically takes place on the first Tuesday of every month, Parent Partner Conference days, and Child Work Nights.

Studio Coordinator

Families can support our studios in many ways.  One is by becoming a Studio Coordinator. This is a contact parent for the studio, and each studio has one.  Coordinators assist their studios in finding volunteers, materials, and anything else as needs arise.

Family Fundraising

Fundraising includes purchase of/participation in Book Fair, Spring Celebration, family nights, Box Tops, store rewards such as Kroger, and Amazon Smile.  A portion of all money raised through fundraisers is returned to our studios via PIP grants.

Work at School

In the Media Center are several studio projects that can be completed by families at school.  Typically these box projects are copying, laminating, cutting, or other tasks to help prepare materials for the studio.  If you are interested in supporting with these projects, contact us at PIP@shiningminds.com.
